Over 50 years members of the society have collected images, written articles and preserved documents that are connected to the rich heritage of the town. Over the coming years we hope to make this resource available digitally for people to use for research as they discover more about the town in which they live.

1890 was a momentous year for Barton, when Fred Hopper started to make and sell bicycles in Barton and to build a company that became one of the main cycle producers in the country.
